Samsung DeX desktop environment:
The Samsung DeX software comes pre-installed on the Galaxy device and, when you plug your phone into an external display via an HDMI adapter, transforms your phone into a full desktop environment. You can choose to use a Bluetooth-enabled keyboard and mouse, or you can turn your phone into a trackpad or virtual keyboard. For more information, click here.
Once your phone is connected to an external display, a popup menu will appear on your phone screen. For the complete PC experience, tap "START SAMSUNG DeX." Otherwise, you can tap "SWITCH TO SCREEN MIRRORING" to cast your phone screen to the external display while maintaining control on your phone.
- Note: Please note that the Galaxy device does not come with the HDMI-to-USB Type-C cable necessary for connecting your phone to an external display or monitor.
Use my phone as a touchpad:
To use your phone as a trackpad or virtual keyboard while in the Samsung DeX environment, slide down from the top of your phone screen.
- Locate and tap "Use your phone as a touchpad."
- To move the arrow icon on the external display, slide your finger across the screen of your phone.
- To click on the area of the display taped by the arrow icon, tap your phone screen trackpad.
