Straight Talk Protect is a device protection plan we offer through our partnership with Assurant. It can provide affordable replacement and repair options for your eligible device due to accidents such as drops or mechanical breakdowns after the manufacture’s warranty expires. You only pay any applicable service fee once your claim is approved.*

- Unlimited mechanical breakdown claims after the manufacturer’s warranty expires*
- Up to two front screen repairs or back glass repairs per 12 rolling months at an Assurant-authorized repair center*
- Up to two device replacements* per rolling 12 months for accidental damage claims
- 24/7 claim filing online
- Next-business-day delivery for approved claims, at no extra cost (when and where available)
Straight Talk Protect is available for iPhone and Android smartphones. Enroll at straighttalk.com during a qualified device purchase and activation. Bringing your own device (BYOD) or enrollment after 30 days requires a virtual mechanical diagnostic inspection. BYOD customers whose phone models are not eligible will not see an option for 'Device Protection' when they set up their account.
The device diagnostic test takes about 2 to 3 minutes and can be completed from anywhere with a cellular or internet connection.
During the process, your phone is checked for screen health and functionality by an outside administrator. Brand new devices sold through StraightTalk.com are exempt from this test and are automatically eligible for Straight Talk Protect.
If your phone doesn’t clear the diagnostic check, you can complete your transaction without device protection, then come back later to try again with a new phone. Each Straight Talk Protect plan applies to one phone and one line only.
Yes, depending on your claim type and device tier. Approved claims for mechanical or electrical breakdown don't have a service fee. However, if you have an approved claim for accidental damage, we'll collect the applicable service fee by credit card or debit card. To learn more, visit fastclaim.com/straighttalk
This program automatically renews every month until canceled by you or by us. Coverage continues only if Auto Pay is selected for device protection before your mobile plan cycle ends. If it isn’t selected by then, coverage will end at the end of your current cycle.
*Service fees and claim limits:
- Repairs: A $29 service fee + tax applies per repair. Available for select smartphones only. Up to two front screen repairs or back glass repairs per 12 rolling month period, beginning on the first repair at an Assurant-authorized repair center. Applies based on the covered device and when and where repair service is available. Otherwise, a replacement is available under Accidental Damage (All Other) for a $29 to $349 service fee depending on your device tier.
- Replacements: A $29 to $349 service fee + tax applies per device replacement, depending on your device tier. Visit fastclaim.com/straighttalk for details on device tier information. Up to two device replacements per 12 rolling month period, beginning on the first replacement. Device replacement will be a new or refurbished product of like kind and quality.
- Out-of-warranty mechanical breakdown: A $0 service fee and unlimited claims apply.

Enrollment & coverage: Enroll at straighttalk.com. Coverage starts on the later of your enrollment or activation date. Bringing your own device (BYOD) or enrollment after 30 days requires a virtual mechanical diagnostic inspection.
Maximum Coverage per Claim: The lesser of the replacement value of the covered device or the original covered device purchase price, minus your service fee.
Exclusions: Loss or theft; service performed by anyone not authorized by us; and losses covered under a manufacturer’s warranty. Refer to your coverage documents for a complete list of exclusions.
Cancellation: You can cancel this optional coverage at any time by calling us at 1-877-430-2355. You’ll receive a refund and/or credit, if any, within the time frame required by law.
The Service Contract Provider is Federal Warranty Service Corporation in all states except in California, where the Provider is Sureway, Inc.; in Florida, where the Provider is United Service Protection, Inc.; and in Oklahoma, where the Provider is Assurant Service Protection, Inc.
