Setup & Activation Guide - Straight Talk Home Internet Router

To activate your device, you will need to have the following:

  • Straight Talk Home Internet Router
  • Straight Talk Home Internet Service Plan (If you did not buy one already, you can purchase one online at the time of activation)
  • IMEI number of the Internet Route, found on a label on the bottom of the device

NOTE: It is always best to activate your service as soon as possible after checking your address for coverage. As service availability can change over time, prompt activation of your service will help ensure availability still exists at the time of activation. If you purchased your device through StraightTalk.com or completed the reservation process in-store by providing your IMEI, you might have had a temporary 30-day reservation created for you.

Setting up the Home Internet Router

1. Power Up Your Router
Once you have activated your device with a plan, place the internet router on a stable surface as close as possible to a window or exterior-facing wall. Plug one end of the power adapter into the router and the other end into a power outlet on your wall.

2. Check for a solid white light
The router’s blinking white light means it’s starting up, and the light may fluctuate between red and white for up to 10 minutes, don’t unplug it.

  • Settles on solid white: you’re all set.
  • Settles on solid red: repeat step 2 in a different spot in your home.
  • Continues to blink white for more than 10 minutes: Check your account to see if a plan is active for the router and try re-activating your plan again if necessary. If you are still having trouble, please call 1-877-430-2355 for assistance.

3. Connect your first wireless device
Look at the label on the bottom of your Internet Router for the default name of its Wi-Fi network and its default password. You can use these to connect to your wireless devices as you do normally. Alternately, for some equipped smartphones, you can scan the QR code on the bottom label with the camera to automatically log on the network. Note that this will only work if you have not changed the network name or password.

4. Rename your Wi-Fi network and check your password.
If you would like to change your Wi-Fi network name and password, you can access these settings from a web browser by visiting the router’s internal configuration page at mynetworksettings.com or http://192.168.1.1. For the best experience, you should access this page from a desktop or laptop computer. Your mobile device's on-screen experience may vary depending on your device and operating system. You will need the default router password from the label on the bottom of your device. Note that this is different than the Wi-Fi Password. If you need more information, you can visit the Straight Talk Home Internet Router support page.
